That's like six innings of work for A-Rod

Where was Sports Pros(e) contributor Mike Clark on this one? After displaying unabashed love for the Bambino in a recent column you'd think owning one of Ruth's sweat-stained hats would be a top priority.

The winning bid of $328,000 seems a bit steep to someone who makes about 1/9th of that per year. Mike Clark probably makes close to this though. The author can only imagine a wealthy publishing tycoon sent a proxy to bid on the item with a strict spending limit that got thrown out the window when the heiress to the Oh Henry! candy bar fortune made it a personal competition.

Author on MSM assignment

Kudos to Mike Clark on a post about Barry Bonds that managed to steer clear of the phrase "Bar-oid" and was refreshingly light on shrunken testicle jokes. Please check out the author's guest post over on the Sun-Times Full Court Press blog. And, before we go any further, Harden needs a nickname. The author proposes "The Missing Link." Not so much because of #40 resemblance to a hominid (for the record: he's a fine looking young man), but because Cub nation is banking on him being the bridge to get them over 100 years of troubled water.
